Cost Estimator 

Overview:

The Cost Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of quotations and other documents in support of the sales efforts.  The Cost Estimator will work closely with the Customer as well as with our Sales and Engineering departments to complete projects in a timely manner.   Solid communication skills are required due to the nature of this position. 

Qualifications:

• Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Technology or equivalent with a minimum of five years of engineering or costing experience
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3-D experience is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical blueprints
• Basic knowledge of machine design & electrical controls (PLC)
• Demonstrated communication and organization skills
• Prior estimating experience is preferred
• General computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Production of formal and budgetary quotations
• Cost estimation and pricing (includes installation pricing)
• Review customer drawings and specifications to understand scope of work
• Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, make an educated estimate
• May act as primary customer contact from concept through purchase
• “Ownership” and responsibility for assigned projects
• Work independently, accurately, and efficiently
• Occasional travel to customer facilities providing Sales support
• Work closely and communicate with other departments
• Due to the custom nature of projects, other tasks, may be required
