Problem: The customer had sheet metal panels of various sizes that were sharp on the edges which were difficult to move and caused ergonomic issues.

Solution: Buckeye Machine designed and manufactured a pick and place Motoman robot cell using suction cups to eliminate the operator from dangerous environments.  This robot work cell featured an Motoman IA20.  Buckeye Machine was one of the first companies to successfully install an IA20 cell within the United States.

Improvements:

• Cost effective compared to manual labor
• Solved safety and ergonomic issues
• Moved different size metal sheets with same application
